Cyber Police have arrested a software engineer from Bhopal in connection with an alleged fake loan app racket linked to a ₹200 crore cyber fraud case. The app reportedly promised instant loans of up to ₹15,000 to attract users, but later misused their personal data.

According to the details, after installation, the app allegedly accessed users’ contacts, photos, messages, and other private information. Victims were then reportedly threatened and pressured to pay much higher amounts than the original loan.

The scam is suspected to have affected nearly 5 lakh users across different parts of India. Authorities are now investigating the financial trail and the wider network behind the fake loan app racket.

Police have also advised citizens to avoid unknown loan apps, never share personal details with unverified platforms, and always check app authenticity before downloading.
