Police action against the drug trade in Nagpur has been intensified. Between January and August 2026, the Nagpur Crime Branch registered 628 drug-related cases and arrested 765 accused. During the crackdown, large quantities of narcotics and assets worth crores of rupees were also seized.

According to the data, narcotics worth approximately ₹5.17 crore, including 10.32 kg of MD and 940 kg of ganja, were seized during this period. The total value of the seized assets is estimated at around ₹6.89 crore.

To dismantle the drug supply chain, police have intensified investigations not only against drug sellers but also into the involvement of suppliers, transporters, and organized gangs. Cases related to MD have also witnessed an increase.

The action by the Nagpur Crime Branch is being seen as an important step toward tightening the grip on the city’s drug network and protecting young people from the dangers of substance abuse.
