The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has intensified its city-wide inspection of private hospitals and healthcare establishments, bringing several compliance issues to light. According to the ongoing audit, 47 private hospitals were found to have gaps in meeting required civic and healthcare norms.

So far, 383 private hospitals have been inspected, while inspections are continuing across a total of 660 healthcare facilities in the city. Among the key findings, 31 hospitals were reported to have excess bed capacity, while 16 hospitals were found without adequate parking facilities.

The NMC audit is examining important aspects such as bed capacity and registration, parking arrangements, display of the Citizens Charter, medical tariff information and compliance with civic regulations. The inspection drive aims to ensure greater transparency, proper infrastructure and better adherence to rules across Nagpur's private healthcare sector.

With more facilities still under inspection, the city-wide audit is expected to bring further focus on hospital compliance and the standards followed by healthcare establishments in Nagpur.
