Physical Efficiency Test for Level-1 (Group ‘D’) Recruitment Underway at Nagpur

The Physical Efficiency Test  for candidates who have qualified in the written examination for recruitment to various Level-1 (Group ‘D’) posts is being conducted from 1 September to 5 September 2026 at the Rail Stadium, Central Railway Colony, Ajni, Nagpur.A total of 6,455 candidates have been called for the PET. Approximately 1,700 candidates are being called each day, of whom around 70% are attending the test. 5 September 2026 has been kept as a reserved day for eligible candidates who could not appear for the PET from 1 to 4 September 2026.
Qualifying the PET is mandatory and qualifying in nature for further consideration in the recruitment process. The prescribed physical standards are as follows:

Male Candidates

To lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres within 2 minutes in one chance, without putting the weight down; and
To run 1,000 metres within 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.
*Female Candidates:*
To lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres within 2 minutes in one chance, without putting the weight down; and
To run 1,000 metres within 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.
The PET is being organised under the directives and guidance of Shri Aditya Kumar, Principal Chief Personnel Officer, Central Railway, Zonal Headquarters Office.
Shri Vinayak Garg, Divisional Railway Manager, Nagpur Division, Central Railway, is the overall in-charge of the conduct of the PET. The test is being conducted under the supervision of Shri Amol Pingle, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (A), Nagpur Division.
At the venue, the arrangements and conduct of the PET are being closely monitored by Shri Ramesh Iyer, Senior Divisional Personnel Officer, Nagpur, along with officers and staff of all departments from various departments. Adequate arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth, transparent, fair and systematic conduct of the Physical Efficiency Test.
The PET is an important stage of the recruitment process, and all eligible candidates have been advised to report at the venue as per their allotted schedule and strictly comply with the instructions issued .
