Maharashtra Police is working on an advanced AI-based investigation platform named MARVEL, aimed at making criminal investigations faster, smarter and more structured. The platform is being developed to support police officers in different stages of investigation, from recording statements to preparing chargesheets.

According to the details, MARVEL will help convert audio and video statements of complainants, victims and witnesses into written records. This is expected to reduce manual paperwork and improve accuracy during the investigation process.

The platform may also assist officers in preparing legal roadmaps, identifying gaps in chargesheets and maintaining a secure chain of custody for evidence. By using AI-driven tools, police officials will be able to manage investigation documents more efficiently and ensure stronger case preparation.

Initially, the MARVEL platform is expected to be introduced on a pilot basis in selected police units. Based on its performance and feedback from officers, it may later be expanded across Maharashtra.

The initiative is expected to improve investigation quality, save time for police personnel, bring more transparency in police work and strengthen the overall justice system.
