NMC Plans Heavy Penalties for Private Bus Operators After Flash Strike Grounds 450 Aapli Buses Good Morning Nagpur

The Nagpur Municipal Corporation is preparing to take strict action against private bus operators after a sudden strike by transport workers disrupted Aapli Bus services across the city.

According to the available information, nearly 450 Aapli buses remained off the roads during the first operational shift on Wednesday morning, causing inconvenience to thousands of daily commuters.

The issue was discussed in the presence of MLA Pravin Datke, Mayor Neeta Thakre, Municipal Commissioner Dr Vipin Itankar, Transport Committee Chairperson Mangala Khekare, and other officials. During the meeting, the transport committee reportedly approved nine pending demands raised by the workers.

The workers’ demands included service regularisation, recovery of financial losses and strict action against private operators responsible for managing the city’s bus fleet.

The civic administration is now assessing the financial losses suffered due to the disruption. NMC officials have indicated that heavy financial penalties may be imposed on the concerned private bus operators for failing to ensure uninterrupted public transport services.

The corporation has emphasised that accountability and service reliability will remain a priority. Further action is expected after the financial assessment and administrative review are completed.
