Elderly Woman Dies After Jumping Into Apartment Water Tank in Nagpur

A tragic incident was reported from Gandhi Nagar, Nagpur, where an 80-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide after jumping into a water tank located within her residential apartment complex. The deceased has been identified as Usha Arun Khaparde, a resident of Swapnil Sujal Apartments.

According to family members, Usha Khaparde had left home for her routine morning walk on June 13 but did not return, prompting concern among relatives. After searching for several hours, the family approached Ambazari Police Station and filed a missing person complaint.

During the investigation, CCTV footage reportedly showed the elderly woman entering the water tank area around 4:00 a.m. Her body was later discovered inside the apartment complex's water tank during a routine inspection. She was immediately rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Ambazari Police reached the spot, assisted in recovering the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. Based on a complaint lodged by her daughter, police have registered a case of accidental death and have launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The unfortunate event has shocked residents of the apartment complex and the local community. Authorities continue to investigate the matter while appealing to citizens to remain attentive to the mental and emotional well-being of elderly family members.
