The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has stepped up preparations for Ganeshotsav 2026, focusing on environmentally responsible idol immersion and cleaner celebrations across the city. A total of 419 artificial immersion ponds have been arranged at different locations to encourage citizens to opt for eco-friendly immersion facilities.

To manage the large volume of flowers and puja waste generated during the festival, NMC has also deployed 18 Nirmalya collection vehicles across Nagpur. The collected floral and organic waste will be processed and converted into natural fertiliser, supporting the city’s waste-to-resource initiative.

Citizens will be able to locate their nearest immersion facility through designated online maps or by contacting the civic helpline. The initiative aims to reduce pollution in natural water bodies while ensuring convenient immersion arrangements for devotees.

With the message of “Devotion with Care,” NMC is encouraging citizens to celebrate Ganeshotsav with greater environmental responsibility and contribute towards a cleaner and greener Nagpur.
