Addressing the gathering, Metri said the central govt has set the target of making India a
developed and self-reliant nation by 2047. "Given the significant contribution of Indian
youth to national development, there is strong hope that this vision will be achieved ahead
of schedule. It is the capability of the youth that has propelled India to become the
world's fourth-largest economy," Metri said.
Vaidya emphasised that youth should focus more on skill development. Highlighting the
contributions of great personalities who dedicated their lives to the nation.
Shreyash Raisoni extended best wishes to all graduating students. Vice-chancellor
Deshpande shared insights into the university's growth and also outlined future plans. The
vote of thanks was proposed by registrar Snehil Jaiswal.
As many as 58 meritorious students were honoured with 36 gold medals, 22 silver medals,
and other prizes for outstanding performance in various examinations. Degrees were
conferred on a total of 1,522 students, including 36 diplomas, 773 undergraduate degrees,
671 postgraduate degrees, and 42 PhDs. Among the graduates, 321 were from engineering
programmes, 216 from commerce and management, 98 from law, 90 from pharmacy
(undergraduate and diploma), and 13 from hotel management (with 4 diplomas).
Additionally, 748 students from the School of Science received degrees.
