Traffic signal operations have become a growing concern for motorists at several busy junctions across Nagpur. Commuters have reported difficulties with signal timings, sudden changes in countdowns and congestion building up during peak hours.

Recent reporting has highlighted inconsistencies in signal timing across the city, with Nagpur having around 171 signalised junctions. Traffic experts and reports have pointed to the need for better coordination and synchronization of signals according to changing traffic volumes.

Busy locations such as Kachipura Chowk and Lokmat Square can experience significant traffic pressure, while ongoing road work around the Lokmat Square area has also contributed to congestion.

Motorists are seeking more predictable signal timings, improved visibility at junctions and closer monitoring of traffic movement. With Nagpur also working toward a more integrated traffic-management system, better coordination between signal operations and real-time traffic conditions could help improve traffic flow and reduce unnecessary waiting at busy crossings.
