The Nagpur Regional Transport Office (RTO) has intensified inspections of school buses across the city to ensure compliance with student transportation safety regulations. During the enforcement drive, 12 school transport vehicles were seized and penalties amounting to ₹19.46 lakh were recovered.

The inspections are focused on key safety requirements, including valid fitness certificates, roadworthiness, mandatory safety equipment, CCTV and security arrangements, emergency equipment, and proper verification of school-bus drivers.

The action highlights the importance of maintaining proper safety standards in vehicles transporting schoolchildren. Transport authorities are continuing inspections to identify violations and ensure that school buses follow the required norms for safer daily travel.

With enforcement activity underway, attention is now on whether all school buses operating in Nagpur are meeting the prescribed safety requirements.
