Nagpur Date 27: Drought has been declared in 265 talukas to deal with the situation arising out of insufficient rainfall in the state . Talukas not included in this will be inspected and assistance will be provided under Trigger Three, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured today that no one will be deprived of assistance in a drought situation .

 Chief Minister Mr. Fadnavis was speaking to the media today regarding the drought situation in the state and the measures announced by the government.

 Drought conditions have been declared in 265 talukas affected by rainfall deficit and other factors , and 12 measures and concessions have been implemented in these talukas . Assuring that assistance for crop damage to drought-affected farmers will be provided as per the prescribed procedure, the Chief Minister said that all the talukas that have not been included will be examined and included in Trigger Three.

 Talking about the availability of drinking water in drought-hit talukas, the Chief Minister said that a plan has been prepared for each district and priority will be given to drinking water accordingly. He said that drinking water is available in most of the projects in the state and that by keeping a reservation of drinking water till July-August, the additional available water and whether it can be provided for Rabi as per the availability of water will also be considered on priority.

 Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also clarified that decisions are being taken to prioritize the necessary measures to deal with the situation, which is likely to reach a peak by the end of February, after studying the situation created by El Nino .                                                                                                                                         Stating that the public also needs to cooperate in dealing with the drought situation, Mr. Devendra Fadnavis said that he also appealed to everyone to do what they can to help the drought-affected areas by avoiding unnecessary expenses.
